Stephen Worrel
Stephen, a Hattiesburg High School graduate, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Mississippi. He then moved forward to gain a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. While in PT school he followed an orthopedic and manual therapy track that would later lead to a certification in manual therapy through the university (MTC).

After graduating he completed an orthopedic residency at the University of Virginia-Virginia Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Institute as well as a Fellowship in orthopedic and manual therapy through the University of St. Augustine. Following his residency, he completed the requirements of the APTA’s orthopedic certification (OCS) exam making him an expert in this field. Stephen is also certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling and uses this technique on a variety of conditions and diagnoses. He has undergone training in Therapeutic Pain Neuroscience giving him a unique understanding of pain for those who suffer from persistent pain. Currently, he sits on advisory boards for the William Carey Physical Therapy program as well as the University of Southern Mississippi’s Children’s Center. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association with sub-memberships in sports, orthopedics, and private practice as well as a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.

Amye Lovitt
Amye Lovitt completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, following a Bachelor’s in Nutrition from Mississippi State University. She became Dry Needling certified in 2017 through the Integrative Dry Needling Institute. She is CAPP-Pelvic and CAPP-OB certified through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Section of Women’s Health and is a Board Certified Women's Specialist also through the APTA. Amye currently specializes in orthopedics and pelvic health and is a member of the APTA, the APTA Mississippi Chapter, and the APTA Section of Pelvic Health.
Amye is an assistant professor at William Carey University in the Physical Therapy program and enjoys spending her clinical day each week at Active Recovery. In addition to being a physical therapist, Amye enjoys being a clinical instructor to area students currently enrolled in a DPT or PTA program. Amye enjoys spending time with her husband, Austin, and three children, Harrison, Sydney, and Lewis, loves to travel, and also enjoys attending any Mississippi State University athletic event.

Brittany Ware Carter
Brittany is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist with a passion for helping athletes perform at their highest level. A former collegiate cross-country runner, she understands the demands of sport from the inside out. Brittany earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she competed on the women’s cross-country team, and went on to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from William Carey University in 2020.
With a strong focus on high-level lower extremity athletes, particularly track and field competitors in jumping events. Brittany combines her clinical expertise with the latest in sports science and cutting-edge technology. Whether you're chasing PRs, recovering from injury, or looking to prevent one, she uses data-driven rehab and performance strategies to get you back to your sport stronger, faster, and more resilient.

Annie Beaugh
Annie completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from William Carey University in 2023, following an Associate’s degree-Physical Therapist Assistant from Pearl River Community College in 2018, and a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2010. She is on the Advisory Board for the William Carey Physical Therapy Program. She has lived in Hattiesburg since 2007 and is grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve the residents in this area.
Annie is dry needling certified through United Dry Needling and working towards being Board-Certified as an Orthopedic Specialist. She also sits on the advisory board for the Pearl River Community College Physical Therapist Assistant Program. In her free time, she enjoys working out, watching LSU sports, and spending time with family and friends.

Katelyn Regan
Katelyn earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from William Carey University in 2024 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiotherapy with a minor in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi.

A lifelong resident of the Laurel/Hattiesburg area, she is proud to serve her local community with a focus on neurological and geriatric rehabilitation. Katelyn is certified in Rock Steady Boxing and LSVT BIG through the Parkinson’s Foundation and is currently pursuing specialization as a Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS).

She serves on the advisory board for William Carey University’s Physical Therapy Program and is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, including its Geriatrics Section. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, watching USM baseball, and spending time with family and friends.

Tyler HILL
With a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and eight years of experience in the field, Tyler brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to his patients. Originally from Mobile, Alabama, he has developed a strong passion for orthopedics and is currently working toward becoming an Orthopedic Certified Specialist. His career has been marked not only by clinical excellence but also by a heart for service, with one of his proudest moments being a mission trip to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he provided hands-on care to those in need. Driven by both compassion and a commitment to professional growth, Tyler continues to expand his expertise while helping patients return to the activities they love most.

SARAH Reynolds
Sarah, originally from Benoit, Mississippi, brings a unique blend of expertise and compassion to her role as a physical therapist at Active Recovery. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from William Carey University, following a Master’s in Horticulture from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Delta State University. With over a year of experience as a PT, Sarah has developed a strong focus in pelvic floor therapy, an area where she is passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life. Married with two children, she is driven by the desire to teach, guide, and support others in reaching their health goals. One of her proudest accomplishments is completing her residency program while living states away from her family, a challenge that shaped her resilience and commitment to her profession. Looking ahead, Sarah hopes to pass her certification exam so she can mentor and teach future PT students, continuing to extend her impact well beyond the clinic.

Adie Goodman
Adie Goodman earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from William Carey University after completing a bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Studies at the University of Mississippi. He also holds an associate’s degree from Copiah-Lincoln Community College, where he played collegiate baseball.

With firsthand experience as an athlete, Adie brings a unique perspective to treating sports-related injuries and optimizing performance. He is currently pursuing board certification as a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS), with a special interest in working with overhead and throwing athletes. Adie is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), staying connected to the latest developments in evidence-based care and professional growth.

Amanda Rigsby
Originally from Pearl, Mississippi, Amanda brings both heart and leadership to her role as Office Manager at Active Recovery. A graduate of Mississippi College with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing, she has spent the last two years helping guide our team and support our patients with dedication and care. Married with two children, whom she proudly calls her greatest legacy, she balances her professional life with a strong faith, finding joy in walking and talking with God. Having grown up a Navy brat, she brings resilience and adaptability to everything she does. She’s passionate about motivating clients to reach their goals and often encourages people to come to Active Recovery even just for an evaluation, knowing the difference it can make. A strong believer in our therapists and in the patients we serve, Amanda is also working toward expanding her knowledge in HR and finding the best ways to manage a physical therapy clinic so that every person who walks through our doors has the best possible experience.

Shilo Ethridge
Born and raised in Hattiesburg, Shilo is often the first smiling face you’ll see when walking into Active Recovery. She holds an Associate’s degree in General Studies and brings not only professional skill but also a deep sense of care to her role. Married with four children and one grandbaby, family is at the heart of everything she does, which shines through in the way she treats every patient like part of the Active Recovery family. She truly is the backbone of our clinic, handling countless responsibilities behind the scenes while making sure each person who walks through our doors feels welcomed and supported. Passionate about learning and growing, she has set a goal to continue her education in medical coding and billing. What she enjoys most about her work is meeting and greeting new people every day and celebrating with them as they reach their physical therapy goals.
